As most know I’ve been married to an actuary for nearly 22 years and it’s taken about that long to get a good answer about what an actuary is/does. So I’ll try to help you understand.
They work with mortality (probability of death) and morbidity (probability of adverse health) and financial risk management…..
and yes, after all these years of marriage I still don’t understand it all….
